Japanese minimalism meets traditional craftsmanship to produce timeless designs that can be enjoyed by all guests. We consciously coincide a creative vision with its impact on the environment. The Moo is imagined with a different persona in mind.

When the set designers of Crazy Rich Asians came looking for pieces that could embody the lush, layered world of Singapore's elite, they found their way to ipse ipsa ipsum. Over 40 bespoke pieces made it into the film, from the Palm Tree Lamp glowing in the background of Astrid's apartment to the Jaipur Chairs anchoring the jewellery store scene recreated at the St. Regis Hotel. It was a collaboration born from a small studio at the National Design Centre, long before ipse had a showroom, built on a simple belief: that objects carry identity. On screen, ipse pieces did exactly that.

At Kimpton Naluria in Kuala Lumpur, every element of the presidential suite was chosen with intention. ipse ipsa ipsum handcrafted a set of customised door handles in solid marble, designed to meet the material and finish standards of one of the hotel's most distinguished spaces. Marble was the natural choice: dense, tactile, and unmistakably considered. In a suite where guests expect nothing less than the best, the handles deliver exactly that.

She is known for her eclectic style and she came to our store to make be spoke items for her project - Dempsey Cook House in Singapore.

ipse ipsa ipsum helped Atout augment it’s green journey. For Atout, We worked with waste materials like recycled tin cans for all their table bases as it’s lead free alumium. And long lasting, we used recycled wood from old doors and windows of houses to make their chairs and their tables, we also used marble off cuts to make their private dining room tables, we are also looking at rice husk waste to make their butler services to incorporate a circular product component in their offering to the customers.

The Singapore Cricket Club has been part of the city's fabric since 1852. Its Lounge Bar carries that weight: a space shaped by generations of membership, memory, and occasion. When it came time for a refresh, the brief was clear: honour what's there. ipse ipsa ipsum worked within the existing structure, integrating new materials into the Bar and furniture rather than stripping it back and starting over. The result is a space that feels renewed without feeling replaced, where craft intervenes quietly, and the institution speaks for itself.

Set within Mandai Rainforest Wild Asia, Cavern Restaurant reimagines dining through a cave-inspired environment that draws from the Mulu Caves of Sarawak, blending primal atmosphere with considered sustainability. ipse ipsa ipsum contributed discreet circular design elements to the space, including reclaimed teak cutlery holders, biodegradable mushroom leather menu covers, and torch-inspired LED lighting crafted from marine-grade stainless steel and reclaimed wood. Integrated seamlessly into the dining experience, these material choices support Cavern’s commitment to sustainability while demonstrating how regenerative systems can enhance hospitality spaces without compromising immersion or craft.

When Lady Gaga returned to Singapore after 13 years for four sold-out nights at the National Stadium, Amber Lounge, the world's most exclusive F1® After Party brand, created a VIP suite worthy of the moment. Working alongside iThink Consulting Group, ipse ipsa ipsum was brought in to design and build a space that captured Gaga's spirit: bold, edgy, and unforgettable.

The design drew from the Japanese Sho Sugi Ban technique, charring reclaimed wood to create a textured, visually striking environment with a low-carbon footprint. High-performance fabrics and ice crystal accents added glamour and dimension, while a DJ station and shot station anchored the lounge as a destination in its own right. Moody, rebellious, and alive with energy, it was a space built to match the final encore.

More precious than the gem stones, is a father's love for his daughter! San Cuaca's father asked us to make this beautiful 3 tiered coffee table with hematite, white quartz and rose quartz semi-precious stones as a housewarming gift for her.

We love how Simone styled her cocktail corner "Ahhhhh....is it that time of day already?! Make mine a double!" This cocktail corner features 2 beautiful pieces from us, a bar cart and buffet table, each skillfully made by hand. Simone mixed a neutral textured wall paper with these pieces and where possible, added highlights of gold and emerald. Metallic highlights work back with most colour palettes so add some shine for a more luxe finish.

Paul & Samantha's mandate was to find a jewel for their home! We put together semi precious gem stones on a mid century frame and created this deep as ocean blue table.

Through the use of certified, agri-waste-based panels, ipse introduced a VOC- and formaldehyde-free alternative to conventional plywood and MDF, designed with circularity and indoor air quality in mind. Rooted in sustainable systems and long-term wellbeing, the collaboration reflects a shared belief that healthier materials shape healthier spaces, influencing how people live, breathe, and heal.

In partnership with Changi Airport Group, we upcycled retired airport carpets into modern tote bags with renewed functional value. The initiative transformed discarded materials into durable lifestyle products, supporting circularity and waste reduction efforts. Through innovative material reuse, the collaboration demonstrates how design can convert operational waste into purposeful and sustainable solutions.

In partnership with Sembwaste, we upcycled retired uniforms into reusable tote bags, giving textile waste a second life through circular design. In collaboration with DBS Bank in Singapore on a circular design project, our approach focused on natural and upcycled materials, rooted in local craftsmanship and circular thinking, creating purposeful solutions that move away from short-term consumption.

Our pantry tables bring this philosophy to life by using reclaimed teak chips and multilayer recycled plastic boards, transforming waste materials into durable, functional, and thoughtfully designed furniture.

This workstation was designed for a workplace with sustainability in mind. It's made from reclaimed timber sourced from old doors and windows, showcasing how we can repurpose waste materials into functional office furniture. The construction avoids adhesives and solvents, using natural oils for finishing, ensuring an eco-friendly and safe product.

Singapore is fast becoming a hub for innovation in sustainability. A recent unconventional collaboration between two Singaporean brands, Singapore Airlines and luxury furniture designer ipse ipsa ipsum, elevated sustainability efforts into new heights.

When in early 2021 Singapore Airlines decided to retire some of its Airbus A380 aircraft, ipse ipsa ipsum saw potential for giving discarded aviation parts a new lease on life. As a brand focused on mindful designs, ipse ipsa ipsum was keen to incorporate repurposed airplane parts into bespoke furniture creations. After careful selection, ipse ipsa ipsum retrieved various components from the hangar such as business class seats, first class credenzas, window frames, overhead cabins, the service bar cart, airline jacks, and the economy headrests, among others.

ipse ipsa ipsum transformed these aircraft components into bespoke luxury furniture with a unique creative design process that preserved their iconic airline forms while integrating ipse ipsa ipsum's signature traditional craftsmanship and artistic design. Traditional artisans in its Arts and Crafts Center in India handcrafted all furnishings, carefully transforming every piece into unique functional furniture pieces.

These pieces, which pay homage to their actual aircraft function, include repurposed first-class seats (Towkay), upcycled service credenzas (3-in-1 Console), revamped service bar carts (Stylo Milo Bar Carts), functional wardrobes made from overhead cabins (Atas Wardrobe), repurposed aircraft windows (Window Display Cabinet), side tables from airline jacks (Air Jack Side Table), and re-used economy headrests (Hugger Headrest).

For Singapore Airlines, this collaboration reinforces its standing as a global leader that pioneers innovative solutions for sustainability in its industry. By upcycling its retired cabin components, it reduced massive industry waste, preserved tokens of its rich heritage, and redefined its brand as a forward-thinking sustainability champion. As ipse ipsa ipsum founder and creative director Saurabh Mangla put it: "There is no waste in the future. All waste is material and can be put to good use." This collaboration brought to life a circular economy framework, allowing end-of-life aircraft parts to find renewed purpose.

The DBS Circular Christmas Tree rethinks festive décor through the lens of circular design. Created in collaboration with ipse ipsa ipsum, the installation uses natural and upcycled materials to form a modular tree that lives beyond the season. Designed to be disassembled and repurposed, each element avoids single-use waste while inviting participation, turning celebration into a shared, regenerative experience.

ipse ipsa ipsum is proud to partner with the 2025 World Aquatics Championships as the designer and maker of its official medals. Crafted from recycled aluminum cans collected through the Trash to Treasure Initiative, each medal embodies ipse’s commitment to regenerative design and circular material innovation. By transforming post-consumer waste into symbols of athletic excellence, ipse demonstrates how design can reduce extraction, lower environmental impact, and redefine prestige through responsibility and craftsmanship.

DBS Roving is a modular display platform designed to bring DBS’ regenerative initiatives to life. Thoughtfully crafted with sustainable materials, it serves as a curated showcase for ideas, products, and stories that reflect responsible innovation and circular thinking. Flexible and mobile by design, DBS Roving allows meaningful narratives around regeneration, impact, and progress to be experienced up close, transforming everyday spaces into points of engagement and awareness.

DBS Private Access Lounge is a refined expression of sustainable luxury, where thoughtful material choices and quiet craftsmanship come together to create a calm, premium environment. Designed to elevate the private banking experience, the lounge balances comfort, discretion, and environmental responsibility, proving that sustainability can exist seamlessly within high-end, client-centric spaces.

The tag line for this project was "An Office in A Garden". We worked hard to create an inviting space for our client. The flooring wa a made with PET waste and the table tops are done with the e-waste found in the clients warehouse. There were many sustainable and upcycled materials used in this project.

Designed in collaboration with Aiden T Interior Design, ipse ipsa ipsum crafted sculptural amethyst wall features and a crystal reception counter to anchor the space with quiet strength and intention. Through thoughtful materiality and energy-aware design, the clinic moves beyond the conventional clinical experience, offering an environment that soothes, grounds, and elevates wellbeing.

O2 Lab, Asia's largest hyperbaric centre, blends cutting-edge science with nature-inspired elegance. Deeply rooted in science, the sanctuary merges modern architecture with organic textures, polished stone, and reclaimed timber crafted from sustainable materials. Offering transformative therapies like hyperbaric oxygen therapy, O2 Lab delivers precise, science-driven wellness in a luxurious, eco-friendly haven for mind, body, and soul.

This lanyard holder is crafted using innovative mycelium leather, a sustainable material derived from the root structure of mushrooms. Designed as an eco-conscious alternative to conventional leather, it combines functionality, durability, and aesthetics while reducing environmental impact. The project reflects our commitment to responsible material innovation, circular design, and the exploration of biodegradable solutions for future-forward products.

For Deloitte's Global Awards, we crafted trophies using agricultural waste for the bases and municipal garbage, including soda cans, for the disks. This innovative approach showcases circularity and sustainable design, turning waste into high quality token pieces.

This diary was thoughtfully created by repurposing leftover batik shirts from Deloitte's previous conference into functional and meaningful merchandise. By transforming surplus fabric into a premium notebook cover, the initiative gives new life to existing materials while reducing textile waste. The design blends sustainability with practicality, creating a unique keepsake that reflects conscious innovation, responsible gifting, and the value of circular design.

As part of Creative Intersections: HobbyHorse at Funan, ipse ipsa ipsum contributed a Trojan Horse to a public installation celebrating movement, identity, and making in the Year of the Horse. The piece looks like wood from the outside, familiar, natural, ostensibly green. Open it up, and you find boxes of glue: a quiet provocation about the VOCs and formaldehyde hiding inside the plywood and MDF products we often trust. Beautiful on the surface, harmful beneath. The Trojan Horse asks us to look closer at the materials we live with every day. Exhibited alongside five fellow artists during Singapore Art Week 2026, supported by the National Arts Council Singapore and the Ministry of Culture, Community and Youth, and with conversations now underway to keep the piece beyond the exhibit, it seems the horse has found its home.

Can a city's waste become its future material legacy? On 31 January, ipse ipsa ipsum hosted a public talk at The Green Collective as part of Creative Intersections: HobbyHorse during Singapore Art Week 2026. The session explored circular design in urban environments, specifically how everyday municipal waste can be transformed into new, meaningful forms. At the centre of the conversation was Circular Gallop, a sculptural installation made entirely from multi-layered plastic waste, a material typically destined for incineration. No binders, no additives, no chemical processing. Just intentional design and a different way of seeing. At ipse, we have long believed in materials that heal rather than harm. This talk was an invitation to reimagine waste streams as creative building blocks, not for aesthetics alone, but for better air quality, circularity, and healthier choices in the built environment.

Waterloo Street holds centuries of ritual, community, and shared heritage within a single stretch of pavement. For Tran-Slates, a public art bench series curated by Justin Loke of Vertical Submarine and commissioned by the National Heritage Board for the Bras Basah Bugis arts and heritage district, ipse ipsa ipsum served as technical adviser, helping to bring designer and researcher Jesvin Yeo's vision into physical form.

The bench draws its flowing lines from the Chinese characters for "Si Beh Lor" (四马路), the Hokkien name for Four Horse Road, inspired by master joss-stick maker Albert Tay whose craft once produced towering dragon sculptures on that very street. Colloquial names like Si Beh Lor are more than directions; they carry stories, identities, and lived histories. This bench offers both a place to pause and a quiet reminder of the communities that shaped this precinct.

At ipse ipsa ipsum, we believe that good design holds memory. Being part of a project that roots contemporary craft so deliberately in cultural heritage is exactly the kind of work we are proud to support.

What remains of an object once its usefulness is gone? That is the question at the heart of Justin Loke's Unarmed Chair series, and ipse ipsa ipsum contributed technical expertise and materials to realise this work.

The piece subjects a leather armchair to deliberate damage, brass plate, acid, and 00-buck shotgun cartridges, before housing it in a glass display cabinet crafted from reclaimed teakwood sourced from old, broken windows and doors. The material choices are anything but incidental. At ipse, we have long worked with reclaimed and waste materials as a design language, and here that same philosophy takes on a sharper edge: the cabinet that protects the destroyed chair is itself built from destruction.

Loke references the Broken Window Fallacy, the economic theory that frames damage as improvement while concealing underlying loss. In this work, the inverse is true. The damage does not conceal; it reveals. A chair, once it can no longer be sat on, stops hiding behind its function and finally presents itself as a thing in its own right.

In an exhibition devoted to making, ipse ipsa ipsum was glad to support the work that asked what unmaking looks like, and what it leaves behind.

Commissioned by the National Heritage Board for Singapore Design Week 2025, ipse ipsa ipsum created Scientia, a functional art bench installed outside the National Library on Victoria Street. Shaped like a boat setting out to sea, the piece speaks to curiosity, discovery, and the pursuit of knowledge. It sits fittingly at Singapore's own seat of knowledge, inviting visitors to pause, reflect, and connect.

The bench weaves the word "knowledge" in Singapore's four CMIO languages, drawing from the calligraphy of artist Tan Seow Wei, honouring the multicultural fabric of the city. And beneath its beauty lies an equally considered material story. Scientia is 3D-printed in concrete using NEWSand, a recycled material made from incineration bottom ash and municipal solid waste slag, developed with Pan-United Corporation as part of Singapore's Zero Waste Nation initiative. Waste, reimagined as the very ground we sit on.

Timeless in form, forward in method. Rooted in heritage, built for what comes next.

ipse ipsa ipsum made its India debut with The Fifth Pillar, a 9-foot sculptural column created in collaboration with contemporary artist Nandan Purkayastha, known for his modern interpretations of Indian mythology. Co-imagined as a tribute to an Indian demigod, the work captures a moment of emergence: strength taking form, heritage reimagined for the now.

The piece was exhibited at Jehangir Art Gallery, Mumbai's most storied art institution, alongside a capsule showcase introducing ipse ipsa ipsum to India's design and collector communities. For a brand that enters new places by working with local creators, this was as much a homecoming as it was a debut.

In 1940, Lim Hak Tai, founding principal of the Nanyang Academy of Fine Arts, delivered a graduation address in the middle of wartime. Translated into English by Justin Loke in 2013 and now commissioned by the National Gallery Singapore, the speech returns in a second iteration as a physical object. ipse ipsa ipsum served as technical expert in bringing it to life.

The piece reframes Lim's address as a contemporary relic, a fragment of text that has passed through war, translation, and time, and emerged still carrying force. Presented in wood and glass, it draws on the layered logic of objects like the Rosetta Stone, where the act of transmission becomes inseparable from the thing transmitted. Translation here is not a service rendered to history. It is a message that requires an interpreter shaped by the era they inhabit.

Some things sharpen with age. This speech is one of them.
