Peranakan Inlay

At Ipse Ipsa Ipsum, discover how bone inlay furniture in Singapore is reimagined as a customisable material finish. Our wide selection of bone inlay patterns — from delicate florals to bold geometrics — can be applied across a range of designs. Choose your own bone inlay cabinet, console, or accent piece, and make it truly yours. Explore bone inlay in Singapore as a distinctive way to personalise your interiors with heritage craftsmanship.

The Peranakan pattern is inspired by a bedspread found in Singapore’s Peranakan Museum. This ornate and eye-catching motif includes the Phoenix bird and Tree of Life, woven together in harmony — making each piece a cultural statement that reflects the beautifully blended heritage of the Straits.

Ethically-sourced from India, handcrafted furniture with mother of pearl or bone pieces intricately inlaid, is one of Ipse's signature technique and materials used - to create striking patterns.

Our master inlay craftsmen with seven generations of inlay craftsmanship, trace their lineage to the armoury of Humayun and were patronised by the Maharajas in India over centuries.
